- Begin creating an infographic in class (potential portfolio item)
Assignments Due Before the Start of Class, Monday, Nov. 4th:
- Peruse some infographics from the Pew Research Center.
- Based on what you looked at in the infographics from the Pew Center, in about one pargraph, write up your definition of an infographic. Be sure to include some common features or strategies that you saw used in the infographics, and you might also consider what the purpose/audience for infographics might be. In short, why and how would someone use an infographic?

Assignments Due by the Start of Class Monday, November 11th:
- Service-learning collaborative draft due at the start of class as a printed-out copy and/or an email to Dr. Holmes with online/electronic content. (CFI – complete draft of website; AdvoChild – script and video footage; Cafe 458 – scripts and rough cut of filming; USPR-GA – complete draft of website; Pebble Tossers – 6 cause areas, 12 “how to” sheets)
- Please take a few minutes to peruse the Wikipedia About Page, in particular please read about Contributing to Wikipedia and the content criteria listed there. You will either be making a contribution to Wikipedia or creating a wikispaces page for this portfolio component, so you might also think about what page you might create or add to on Wikipedia or what you might create for a wikispaces wiki.

Digital Storytelling & Preparing for the Portfolio (CLSO 303)
- In-class work on digital stories using MovieMaker. Have electronic access to all files needed to work on your story.
- Preview of VoiceThread technology and peer review groups.
- Discussion of options for compiling your portfolio. Reminder of required components and due dates.
Assignments due before the start of class:
- Bring any materials you need to work on your digital story in class.
- Blog check, 3 new entries and 3 new posts due (see blog criteria)
